During this time, Mrs Santos was a part of Pequena Companhia/Little Company (2014-2018) where she participated in numerous productions by various portuguese choreographers both as chorus and soloist. In 2019, Matilde participated in the short documentary ‘War Horses’ by biologist and director João Rodrigues appealing to the importance and recuperation of sea-horse colonies in Ria Formosa in the Algarve, Portugal. Later that same year Mrs Santos moved to New York City in order to pursue her dance studies at the Martha Graham School enrolling in the Two Year Certificate program. In 2021 she concluded this program and enrolled in the Teacher Training Program, in which she successfully graduated in June 2022. In November 2021, Matilde Santos was awarded the Ooi Meland International Student Award in recognition of her excellent artistic promise and achievement. Whilst still enrolled in the Martha Graham School, Mrs Santos made an appearance in the Graham2 Company performance in April 2022, Enso choreographed by Virginie Mécène. In March 2022 Matilde began working with Emotions Physical Theater under the artistic directorship of Shawn Rawls where she danced as chorus and made her debut as soloist in a tour to Japan in November 2022. Mrs. Santos worked at the Martha Graham School as School Administrator, Social Media Assistant and Teacher in the program Teens@Graham during the school year 2022/2023 and Summer Intensive 2023. During that time Matilde also participated in a few freelance projects in NYC such as ‘Table of Silence’ with Buglisi Dance Theatre and 2023 Graham2’s season in which she performed in ‘Diversion of Angels’ (1948) by Martha Graham as Chorus Women and ‘Temptations of the Moon’ (1986) by Martha Graham as Chorus. In September 2023, Mrs Santos moved to Vancouver, Canada in a scholarship program with E.D.A.M. company opening her horizons in the contact improvisation field under the mentorship of Peter Bingham.
