The first ever Graham in the UK festival included multifaceted events which brought together dance lovers and world renowned artists. Professional dancers were offered the opportunity to learn from some of the greatest luminaries in the contemporary world of Graham who came over from the USA.
The Dance Conservatory of Eva Jacz in Bratislava performed the female chorus from Night Journey, known as Daughters of the Night. It also became a partner institution with the Martha Graham School in New York.
All over Europe, Intensives including Graham are happening: technique, repertory, panel of discussion, performances.
Dr. Dana Mills teaches political theory and feminist theory at Oxford. In 2016, she published her first book Dance and Politics: Moving beyond Boundaries with Manchester University Press.
THE CLASS WILL BE LED BY VIRGINIE MÉCÈNE, PEDAGOGY INSTRUCTOR AT THE MARTHA GRAHAM CENTER, FORMER PRINCIPAL DANCER WITH THE MARTHA GRAHAM COMPANY AND FORMER DIRECTOR OF THE MARTHA GRAHAM SCHOOL.
